That is exactly what our intake is for. Tell us what is happening and we will find the right path forward - together. No referral jargon. No wrong door.

Our foundation

Built from lived experience. Driven by an unshakeable purpose.

Ability Advocates was founded by a mother who lived the reality of navigating a system that too often fails the people it is meant to serve. That experience became our foundation - and our refusal to accept less became our driving force. Every service we deliver, every person we stand beside, every barrier we challenge - all rooted in the belief that people with disabilities deserve more than a system response. They deserve genuine partnership, unwavering advocacy, and support that sees the whole person. When you come to us, we begin with a real conversation: your goals, your challenges, your strengths, your life. Then we work out the right services and funding pathways together. That is why we operate across NDIS, Medicare, GTO, grants, corporate partnerships, and other programs - not because we lead with credentials, but because different people need different pathways, and we are committed to finding every avenue to fund the support you need. We operate through two organisations: the Ability Advocates Foundation, providing free and independent advocacy regardless of funding status, and Ability Advocates Australia, delivering allied health, employment, and community support services.

What we do

Two independent organisations. Connected by a joint vision.

The Ability Advocates Foundation provides free, independent advocacy - no NDIS plan or funding required. Ability Advocates Australia delivers allied health, employment pathways, and home and community support. Two independent organisations connected by a common vision to change the world for people with disabilities and their families.

Support for Families & Carers

Caring for someone with a disability is demanding work - and carers deserve their own support. Our psychologist-facilitated programs include the Carer Resilience & Wellbeing Program, Sibling Tribe, Family Advocacy, and Carer Workshops - built around the real pressures of caring, not just what a funding category covers. Available with or without NDIS funding.

Inclusive Workplaces & NDIS Providers

Inclusion that goes beyond a policy document. We help employers build Disability Inclusion Action Plans, deliver disability confidence training, support inclusive recruitment, and host GTO traineeships. For NDIS providers, we offer quality and safeguarding capability building grounded in the NDIS Practice Standards. Funded via corporate partnerships, government grants and fee for service.

How it works

Self-advocacy program

VoiceAbility - know your rights. Find your voice.

VoiceAbility is an initiative by Ability Advocates funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency Peer Support and Capacity Building Grant Programs. It helps people with disabilities and their families build self-advocacy skills, understand their rights, and speak up confidently in decisions that affect their lives. VoiceAbility offers resources, education, and training to develop self-advocacy skills and disability rights knowledge across four key settings: Workplace, Housing and Accommodation, Health, and Education. Our goal is to help people with disabilities become more independent, improve their quality of life, and get more involved in their community - because your voice matters most in every room you walk into.
