Advocacy & Outreach

Referrals accepted for AAF (Ability Advocates Foundation) - a separate legal entity from Ability Advocates Australia. AAF is a registered charity. It is NOT a registered NDIS provider and does not receive NDIS funding. Advocacy services are free to all people with disability. AAF advocates across: - NDIS Access Support - pre-NDIS assistance only - System Navigation & Service Linkages - Human Rights Advocacy - health, education, justice, housing, social services, and disability rights - General Advocacy - discrimination, safety concerns No NDIS plan required. Free through the Ability Advocates Foundation. Separate AAF intake form required.

Our referral process

What happens after you refer?

Step 1 - Submit your referral Complete the form above or call 1300 028 928. You can refer yourself, a family member, or a client you support. You don't need to know exactly which service - just tell us what's happening. Step 2 - We review within 1–2 business days Our intake team reviews every referral. We'll confirm receipt and reach out if we need more information. Step 3 - Intake conversation We contact the person being referred (or their carer/guardian) to understand their needs, goals, and funding situation. We start with what they need - not what their plan says. Step 4 - Service match and commencement We identify the right pathway, confirm funding, and provide a Service Agreement or Letter of Engagement. Most clients begin their first appointment within 1–4 weeks. Step 5 - Ongoing communication With consent, we keep referrers updated and remain available to coordinate with support coordinators, GPs, and allied health professionals. --- Who can refer? Anyone - individuals, family members, GPs, hospitals, allied health professionals, support coordinators, plan managers, schools, Workforce Australia providers, and employers.
